NEW!!!

Just published is a novel about wartime Burma: Rangoon 1941. A Novel Based on True Events by S. Kella Samuels

The story begins and ends in Rangoon but takes the reader to Moulmein and the pivotal Battle at the Sittang Bridge, then across Burma to the decisive battles fought on the Asian mainland at Kohima and Imphal in India. Some of the characters fight for the British against the Japanese; others work with the Japanese to implement the promised Greater Co-Prosperity Sphere; and others are civilians caught up in the horrors of war who flee for their lives across the mountains and jungles of northern Burma. In the end, the characters reflect upon their tumultuous lives and the legacy of World War II for them, their families, and the country of Burma.

SKS Enterprises also publishes Burma Ruby. A History of Mogok’s Rubies from Antiquity to the Present and Varieties of Burmese Jade, both by S.K. Samuels. In 2009 we reprinted and expanded the latter as Jade and Maw Sit Sit of Burma. We are building a collection of short CDs that focus on just one topic, such as a trip to Burma's Phakant jade mines, a visit to the gemstone mines in Namya, and the like. We invite you to contact us for your gemstone needs or to order any of our publications.
